IN THEIR WORDS

“

I didn't think anyone really listened to what was going on, but having someone to just sit and talk through things made it feel a lot less heavy. It wasn't like a classroom, it just felt real.

“

Everything felt like it was going wrong at once and I just stayed home because it was easier. The mentoring helped me see that it was okay to take small steps instead of trying to fix everything in one day.

“

I was so nervous about moving to the big school. We practiced the bus route and where to get lunch, and it sounds small but it meant I could actually go on the first day without panicking.
